Membership types
ACfA accepts applications for three types of membership:
ACfA Member
ACfA Members are crowdfunding intermediaries. ACfA Members must comply with our Charter of Good Conduct and undergo annual assessments. All ACfA members commit to upholding high standards of business conduct, integrity and fair dealing at all times. As the leading industry body, our members represent broader interests and may be called upon to assist in activities aimed at advancing progress in African crowdfunding.
Ecosystem Member
ACfA Ecosystem Members are organisations which provide services and products to the crowdfunding industry. Membership allows them access to the member network and regular updates on regulations that enable them to build compliant offerings. Examples of ecosystem stakeholders are law firms, RegTech start-ups, digital payment services providers, blockchain technology providers and white label crowdfunding platform providers.
ACfA Observer
ACfA Observers are crowdfunding intermediaries which do not yet fully comply with the ACfA Charter of Good Conduct or which are at an early stage of development. Observers wish to benefit from access to ACfA resources and the member network as they develop and become compliant with the COGC. ACfA Observer status is valid for a maximum of 12 months. Thereafter, ACfA requires them to convert to full ACfA Member status.
